The Vicenza-based vending company already held a 35% share in the Verona-based software house.
Managing Director Francesco Cantini: “Despite market challenges, our outlook for 2025 is positive. In 2026 we are targeting growth in the ‘extra-vending’ market, also thanks to pharmacies and tobacconists with Vendix.”

– FAS International SpA, one of Italy’s leading players in automated retail, has increased its stake in Alturas Sistemi Srl from the current 35% to 80%. In October 2024, FAS acquired an initial 35% stake in Alturas, a software house based in Villafranca di Verona (VR) specializing in advanced management solutions, custom applications, and hardware and software infrastructures. Now, just over a year later, the acquisition of an additional 45% further consolidates a strategic partnership that will enable FAS to strengthen its digital architecture through an integrated software and hardware ecosystem, supported by artificial intelligence technologies that are increasingly central to the group’s future development.
Despite the challenges that have affected the vending sector in recent years – from inflationary pressure to rising costs across the board – FAS expects to close 2025 with consolidated revenues slightly higher than in 2024, at approximately €58 million. This result has also been made possible by the contribution of Alturas and, more recently, Vendix, which joined the group in July 2025 with a 70% stake, set to increase to 100% within two years.
Looking ahead to 2026, the company is optimistic about expanding into the ‘extra-vending’ market, which includes 24/7 automated stores and collective catering – also supported by solutions for automated canteens under the “Food24 system” – as well as new retail tech opportunities for pharmacies and tobacconists developed with Vendix, a newco born from a spin-off of Microhard.

“Despite the difficulties facing the sector, our outlook for 2026 is positive,” said Francesco Cantini, Managing Director of FAS International.

. “Recent acquisitions have allowed us to strengthen our focus on the development of integrated digital solutions and on the continuous upgrade of hardware system functionality and stability, with the aim of improving the purchasing experience and generating efficiency across the entire value chain. Our vision remains that of an advanced ‘Retail Tech’, based on the integration of digital technologies to support retail. The partnership with Alturas has launched a joint development path that is delivering excellent results, improving not only the consumer experience but also the operational management for customers and operators. Now, with Vendix, we are entering new B2C segments such as pharmacies and tobacconists, where after-sales support requires extremely fast response times and a high level of dependence on the manufacturer. In this context, artificial intelligence represents a key factor for us: we intend to apply it across all our solutions, with a particular focus on after-sales, where it can ensure predictive diagnostics, faster interventions and an unprecedented level of service quality.”
Alongside the strengthening of FAS’s stake in Alturas, Giovanni Pizzoli has been confirmed as Chief Executive Officer of the Verona-based software house. “The partnership with FAS has delivered significant results,” said Pizzoli, “and we welcome the increase in their shareholding. This agreement allows us to maintain our autonomy while at the same time giving new momentum to a synergy that has generated benefits for both companies. Thanks to FAS, which has enhanced our innovation applied to Retail Tech, we are ready to enter the market in an even more structured way.”
FAS International was founded in 1967 thanks to the vision of its founder, Antonio Adriani. Today, leadership remains firmly in the hands of the family, with Luca and Mariangela Adriani – the founder’s children – serving respectively as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
